The run starts at the junction with Highway 680 in San Jose and goes north east along the twisty CA-130 toward the hills. The Mount Hamilton loop is a beautiful ride at any time of the year and offers great vistas of different landscapes such as forested areas, farmlands and meadows. When you get to the top of the mountain, enjoy a panoramic and breathtaking view of the surrounding area from the Lick Observatory at an elevation of 4200 ft. Continue onto Mines Road and CA-84 to go back to Hwy 680 at Alum Rock, where you'll find the end of the route.

God I love Mines/Hammy. Haven't been out there for a while because the slab ride to livermore is basically the same as my commute and it feelsbadman.

You can easily add Redwood or Morgan Territory to the loop if coming from SF/northbay.

Calaveras/Felter would be a fantastic addition to that loop from SJ.

If you want to add a bit more scenic ride to this, hang a left off Hwy84 just past Hwy680 onto Calaveras rd. Out past the lake then down to hwy680.

Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for the pics. Wish I could get out the West Coast on my bike for areas like these!
