All 140 miles of Hwy 36 is exhilarating

Many riders feel this is the perfect ride. There will be no stops along the way, this route is a true Point-A to Point-B adventure. Make sure you fill your bike up to the brim before leaving Red Bluff!

Start the motorcycle route in Red Bluff heading West on the amazing Highway 36 in Northern California. Hwy 36 is a ride loaded with twisties, the elevation changes many times rising and dipping from 100 to 1300 metres above sea level, it will make you feel like you're on a roller coaster. Hwy 36 is a beauty, the road is a well paved surface, however as you get closer to Fortuna it gets a little rough.

During the first 20 miles (32 km) a large hill will entice you to drive fast over the top

Be careful because as you turn over the top of that crest the road makes an abrupt turn in the opposite direction. Many spots along Hwy 36 are very narrow and don't have guardrails. The centre line disappears for a few miles on the Western part of Highway. Cliffs also line the road so make sure to follow posted speed limits at corners or an untimely fall a-waits.

Get them on your own time because you have to watch out for Cows, yes Cows! They roam onto the road with their buddies. The route will pass through the Redwood Forest, and the beautiful surroundings might avert your eyes, so keep those eyes on the road!
