WSBK - Race 2 Results from Donington 2012
Wow. If race 1 was epic, race 2 was indescribable! It looked like a 1-2 for BMW until the final corner of the final lap when Rea clipped Haslam which sent him sliding into Melandri, taking them both out within spitting distance of the finish line. A total of eight riders crashed out, inluding Laverty on lap 10. His bike did not look healthy when it came back to the garage: (photos via @pippamorson)Â 1,2 & 3. It really was an incredible race to behold!
The result was a win for Jonathan Rea which takes him into third place for the championship. Max Biaggi took second with Tom Sykes taking the third spot on the podium. Thanks to Melandri crashing out, Biaggi retains his position as championship leader, followed by Sykes and Rea. Checa drops to fourth after crashing out on the first turn of the first lap.
