An Italian motorcycle, the Ducati 550 Supermono was produced from 1993 to 1997. This lightweight, compact racer was built with many technical innovations that strongly influenced the design of later Ducati models. Supermono had a 549 cc single cylinder, four stroke, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine. It had a top speed of 145mph (233km/h)
The name comes from the European motorcycle road racing class ‟Supermono” which is a lightweight class for bikes with single cylinders and less than 800 cc engines. The Ducati Supermono placed 2nd in the 1994 Isle of Man TT and won in the 1995 TT, in 1195 it won the Ireland NW 200 Supermono.
It is arguably the most collectable Ducati of any era, because only a total of 67 Ducati Supermono's were built.
