What sets this engine apart from other twin cylinders is that the crankshaft was dynamically balanced from the factory, and it had an automatic advance magneto, which made these bikes one of the smoothest British twin engines ever. The Interceptor Series 1 ended production in 1966 when the series 1A was launched with a coil ignition.
