An Italian made bike, the Ducati Monster 796 has a 2 cylinder, air cooled, 803 cc engine. Its top speed is 125 mph (201 km/h), and the bike weighs a very light 373 lbs (169 kg).
All the Monsters models are very light, small and easy to handle. The 796 is slightly different than the 696 and its bigger brother the 1100. The seat height is a bit higher than the 696, and slightly lower than the 1100 capacity Monster. The wide handlebars give the 796 good control, directional changes are easy, and the feel is light. If you are a taller rider, you will have trouble reading instruments when concentrating on the road.
After the huge success of the 796, Ducati expanded to the Asian market. With a huge population concentrated in the Eastern Asia, it has emerged as one of the most lucrative regions in the world for Motorcycles. Once launched, the order books filled up quickly and orders are still flooding in. The 795 is aimed specifically at the Asian market and will be assembled in a plant in Thailand. Despite its distinctive Italian design, the new Monster 795 is an Asia- specific model and marks the first time that Ducati has built a bike for a specific geographical region. Being an Asia-specific model simply means it has been designed to fit smaller riders. Using the chassis of the existing Monster 696, the seat is positioned a little lower and the distance to the handle bars are shortened.
The Monster series has 3 models: the 696 for low demanding riders, the 1100 for those who want high performance, and the 796 that slips in between them. The Monster 796 is the perfect synthesis between sports performances, aesthetics and daily riding pleasure. Cared for in each single detail, it is the ideal bike for each riding style and represents the utmost evolution of the Monster family.
