Now, this is odd. With 174 riders killed and over 1600 injured in the past ten years, South Australia is considering passing a law that you need a car license before you can get a motorcycle license. Moreover, you'll need to drive the car for at least 12 months before you can get a motorcycle license.

There's a bunch more restrictions at their site and all of it looks like they really want to get the number of bikes on the road way down.

So, here's my counter-proposal: Make everyone who wants to get a car license take a mandatory one day motorcycle course, including a road section. It doesn't need to be a test, but maybe it will get some of these cagers to consider sharing the road and be more mindful of bikes.
