Town and Country Motor Inn

restaurant/cafe Saranac Avenue, Lake Placid, New York, United States of America

Somestimes, you just need a place to sleep. Having rolled into Lake Placid after dark, I realized there are plenty of options for a bed for the night. I ended up at the Town and Country Motor inn as I'm not a fan of the chain motels.

The decision turned out to be a good one. $69 for the room got me a very clean and good size unit with two double beds (it was the only room left) and shower I could have used to pressure wash the bike. Decor is a bit drab but not offensively so.

They're also very biker friendly - I ended having a nice chat with a BMW rider next door for a while and as we eagerly tried to mine each other for route suggestions, we realized we'd both never ridden here before. Oh well. The maps around here suggest there's no bad turns.

I'd add a picture of the place, but in true biking style, I literally dumped everything on every available surface. Oh, what the hell. You can see what a slob I am.

Not much else to say about the place. There's a McD's just 60 seconds away if you want food and Pan Docle next to it if you want higher end. Other than that, slept well in what ended up being a reasonably quiet room.
