Gorham Motor Inn

Gorham is nestled in the white mountains area of New Hampshire. Despite the fog and rain as I rode into town last night, you can tell the scenery is really quite impressive.

It's situated about 15km from Mount Washington and there's lots of good riding around here - the 16 whcih takes you throught the National Park is very picturesque.

And that's where the recommendations end. It's not a bad place to stay and at $79 for the night, not overly expensive. However, it just feels old. The decor could generously be described as Ski Lodge, with what might be pine on on the walls. However, it mostly comes across as torturers dungeon.

There was a curious odor in my room, that I can only attribute to being one of those motels that actively encouraged it's guests to smoke in the rooms. The fake leather chairs seem to back this up, looking a very suspicious color.

The bed was not comfortable either and despite being billed as a queen was actually a double. And there was no plug for the bath. The Wifi is slow as molasses and the outlet was so worn, I had to wedge a book under my power adapter to get it to stay in the wall.

There's plenty of other places around here. I'd pick one of them.
