A Lake Placid Loop

This is a fun little loop you could use or even extend as the basis for a day ride in New York State, around Lake Placid.

The first stretch - the 86/9N section starts in beautiful Adirondack parkland and is a color riot this time of year. By the time you've head to the eastern half of the route, it's flattened out, but it's no less beautiful and the section on the 22 is very quiet indeed.

I ended up merging back onto the 9 south and headed to Queensbury before heading East, but a more interesting route would be back along the 78 to where you started. Overnight in Lake Placid and have a full day's riding. Depending on your tastes and tolerance for seat time, add in a few of the other roads in the area. There's plenty to see and do.
