Robbie Maddison Launches Motorcycle Down A Ski Jump at 71 MPH
This is not for the faint of heart. It's exhilarating and pure f*n madness! He's jumped a football field, a bridge, he's back flipped off tall buildings, he's broken and set world records all on a motorcycle.
Robbie “Maddo” Maddison is one of the most famous names in pro motorbike. He played James Bond in the breath-taking rooftop motorbike scene a Skyfall, and he holds the world record for a host of motorcycle jumps.
For the 33 year-old Australian's latest death-defying stunt we see him ride hard to Olympic Park in Utah City, only to change lanes to the dry bobsleigh run at full speed, never mind coming within inches of disaster, he leans through every twist and turn.
Then, Maddo climbs a back road to the top of the ski jump - like the one Olympic ski jumpers fly down to land on compacted snow at the bottom of a colossal hill. He launches his motorbike to a vertical drop of 185 ft (18 ½ stories) for a new world record at 71 MPH with a jump distance of 114 meters (374 ft).
The stunts were produced to promote the launch of On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter released in theatres across the U.S. on November 7th, 2014. Thanks to Skullcandy, Red Bull Media, a huge crew and a helicopter! the incredible motorcycle stunt ride and flight is captured on film.
Watch the bobsled run at the :50 mark; the ski jump starts at 2:05.
