The triumph of the Movistar Yamaha rider in Qatar during an electrifying race, occupies the front pages of the world’s media.

Valentino Rossi’s incredible battle with compatriots Dovizioso and Iannone, under the floodlights at the Losail International Circuit, has grabbed the attention of newspapers around the world.

Naturally, in Italy is where his victory made the biggest headlines, with the media reflecting the mood of the nation as La Gazetta della Sport led with the headline “Valentino Rossi the Legend.” Il Corriere della Sera talks about the “Rossi Show,” in reference to his comeback from 10th position at the start of the race to take the win.

Rossi also graces the front page of La Repubblica, sharing the stage with Sebastien Vettel who won the Malaysian Formula one Grand Prix with Ferrari, and on their webpage they lead with the title “Super Rossi, Ducati Show.”

The all-Italian podium, along with Vettel’s win, also made the cover of Il Messaggero: “The Ferrari and Valentino show, Italian racing is still alive!”

Rossi’s character appeals to people all over the world, and on the CNNwebsite they reported: “Valentino Rossi scores stunning victory in MotoGP opener.” In England, the Times went with “Valentino Rossi finds sands of time no barrier in desert victory.”

In France, the prestigious L'Equipe speaks of “The Eternal Valentino Rossi,” while in Spain El Pais went with “Only Rossi can stop Ducati,” highlighting the exciting duel with Dovizioso.
