Return from Beacon

This was the return trip from my first ride outside The City since I got the bike.  The ride up was a bit more bike friendly which was going up 9W instead of the Palisades.  There were plenty of other bikes on my way up.   I think that's a pretty popular escape route.

Traffic was moving really well on the trip I posted, so this is about as fast as it gets.  The Nighthawk was definitely pushing it on the highway.  Next summer I'll probably upgrade, but this is working well as my first bike.

 

I think my next ride out is going to be along the south shore of Long Island.

And I complain about how long it takes to escape Toronto's sprawl and traffic congestion - I can't imagine New York City!

Everyone posts about riding in the country - what's your favourite ride to do in the city when you just have to get out but can't afford hours into the countryside?
