The town of Ubud, in the uplands of Bali is surrounded by rainforest and terraced rice paddies, dotted with Hindu temples and shrines, among Bali’s most iconic landscapes. Ancient holy sites include the Tirta Empul temple complex, and the intricately carved Goa Gajah (or “Elephant Cave”).

From Ubud to Mt. Batur climb to an elevation of 1,717 metres to the top of this active volcano, last erupting in the year 2000, and located at the center of two concentric calderas north west of Mount Agung.

Then on to Kututabahan through some serious twisties ending at the the Secret Garden also known as Sambangan, Sukasada.
