This year marked the 100th anniversary of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Known as one of the most difficult motorcycle races in the world, Pikes Peak challenges riders with a 12.42 mile, 156 turn course that climbs 4,720 ft. from the 9,390 ft. start line to the 14,115 ft. finish. The combination of a twisty road with steep drop-offs, unpredictable weather, and the technical challenges associated with operating internal combustion engines efficiently at altitude, makes Pikes Peak truly demanding.
Over the years, Ducati has had quite a bit of success on Pikes Peak, and to help celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the race, is releasing a limited edition replica kit for the Multistrada. Earning multiple victories at the race since 2010, the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak is one of the most significant race bikes that represents Ducati North America’s racing heritage. Created specifically for the centennial anniversary of the PPIHC and exclusively for North America, production will be limited to 400 replica kits. Each kit is included with the purchase of a new 2016 Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak, available only at authorized Ducati dealerships.
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak 100th Anniversary Replica Kit includes:
- Personalized Pikes Peak “100” Race Number Plate
- Motorcycle Fairing Partner Logos
- Numbered crank-case cover badge with Pikes Peak 100th Anniversary Logo
- Spider Grips PEAK grip specifically developed from the race program
- Pikes Peak Squadra Alpina Team Hat
- Pikes Peak Squadra Alpina Decal Pack
- History of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb advance release DVD
- Pikes Peak Squadra Alpina Team Glossy and Poster, signed by former champions Carlin Dunne, Micky Dymond, Gary Trachy and Greg Tracy

The 2016 Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak is a variant of the base model of the Multistrada and is designed to convey all the strength that has made this bike successful on the demanding road course. The motorcycle is differentiated from the base model by dedicated components including adjustable high performance Öhlins suspension, as well as a Ducati Performance exhaust by Termignoni that adds a distinct exhaust note. MSRP for this limited edition is $23,795.
The addition of the replica kit makes an already special bike that much more exclusive. From its inception as an air cooled 1,000cc model in 2003 all the way to today’s 1,200cc liquid cooled version, the Multistrada has offered a good balance of comfort, performance, and sport touring ability. Hopefully, we can bring you a test ride soon!
