Cliff Riding on the Costa Brava in Spain Motorcycle Road of the Year

One of the best motorcycle roads in Spain is along the Costa Brava on the Spanish coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Locals call the road between Tossa de Mar and Sant Feliu de Guíxols Road of the Year for a reason, it's beautifully scenic, extremely twisty and it has one turn for every day of the year -365 in total.

Costa Brava is the name given to the northeastern area of Spain

It has a reputation for a wild and rugged coast- which happens to be the English translation. The Road of the Year is officially known as Carretera Blanes A Sant Feliu (Gi-682), the direct English translation is Highway Blanes to SantFeliu but _Road of the Year_ has a nicer ring to it.

Start the motorcycle route in Tossa De Mar

It's a town of 6,000 located 87 km (54 mi) northeast of Barcelona. Tossa de Mar is a popular tourist destination because of its beautiful beaches on the Mediterranean Sea.

Of the three beaches to explore in the area, the most popular is Tossa Beach (Platja Gran) enclosed on the west side by a medieval fortress called the "Vila Vella Enceinte". The fortress dates back to the 14th century. It's the only example of a fortified medieval town still in existence on the Spanish coast worth the visit.

From Tossa de Mar ride north east to Sant Feliu de Guíxols

Take Gi-682 for 22.3 km (13.9 mi) of twisty motorcycle heaven. As soon as you pass the last house on Gi-682 in Tossa de Mar the 365 turns begin as you ride the cliff lined roads along the Mediterranean Sea.

Sant Feliu de Guíxols

It's a small town on the Mediterranean Sea 108 km (67 mi) northeast of Barcelona. The town is surrounded by small mountains with forests of pine, oak, and cork trees. The coastline of Sant Feliu de Guíxols spreads over 10 km (6.2 mi) and has many bays and coves to explore along with rocky and fine sand beaches.

Sant Feliu de Guíxols is located in an area known for parties, festivals and carnivals. The Festa Major is a traditional, Catalan festival, celebrated every August 1st dedicated to the town's patron saint, St. Feliu.

The road from Tossa de Mar to Sant Feliu de Guíxols

It may be a short 40 minutes but the combination of 365 turns while riding along the sea on top of cliffs is breath-taking.

Enjoy the ride, EatSleepRIDE.

Thanks for the clarification @Chema8123. Also nice to know there's a strong police presence here, no speeding 🙂

Hi from Barcelona (Spain?). As you comment , these roads are very appreciated by local riders, while it's true there is a strong presence of the traffic police (so called here Mossos d'Esquadra). Just a brief comment. The picture you head as "Costa Brava- Sant Feliu de Guíxols" is in fact Calella de Palafrugell, further north, close to Palafrugell, between Llanfranc and Palamós. Great roads, specially in spring and summer time. Greetings from Catalonia (Spain? 😉

it's a beautiful part of the world and I want to go back, if only for this road. Why is it everywhere has better roads that we do in Ontario?
