Guild Park, A Strange City Park in Toronto near the Scarborough Bluffs
scenic/reststop 203 Guildwood Parkway, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
A unique destination motorcycle ride in Toronto is Guild Park
Toronto is a great town with a growing motorcycle scene. There's some good to great riding outside of Toronto metro, but getting out to those roads can take about 45 minutes from the city core.
Guild Park Toronto - on Triumphs
Guild Park can be described as a public monument graveyard and good destination ride if you find yourself in Toronto but you don't have time to get out of the city. I call the park 'strange' because, well - it is.
A sculpture and monument graveyard, the park started with the Guild Inn which now feels like a decrepit hotel out of a John Irving novel - desperately in need of repair. It was built as a depression era artist retreat by Rosa and Spencer Clark. Over the years, it's become a type of collection ground for retired public monuments. It's worth checking out.
Guild Park Toronto - hiking in gear
There arn't many ammenties in the park; if you go bring water and some food for a nice pic-nic.
Guild Park Toronto - Archway
A number of walking trails seem to be hacked through the park towards the cliff. I should have brought hiking clothes, it's not easy to hike in motorcycle gear.

Guild Park Toronto - gates
While exploring the park, we came across some elevation and twisties roads. Unfortunately, those same roads aren't open to vehicles. Too bad.

Explore along the escarpement and you'll see the Scarborough Bluffs below. It's quite beautiful. You can walk down the cliff to a few small beachy coves. Really unexpected nature and beauty.

The residential neighbourhoods around Guild Park are charming and green. Street light covered in foliage is a common sight.
