Airplane Engine Powered Motorcycle

The Germans are known for some pretty amazing feats of engineering so this isn't too shocking, but it is pretty outrageous - DIY mechanic Frank Ohle has fit a motorcycle with an airplane engine. It is powered by a 150hp Rotec Radial R3600 airplane engine and this improbable bike does run.

The nine cylinders bike with custom chassis, suspension and electronics was pieced together over the course of 18 months and rumour has it he'll be adding wings to it in the future! With zero silencers, it's a really loud ride, as seen in this video.

The Rotec Radial R3600 airplane engine's common use is as a replacement engines for vintage World War 1 aircraft and is not the first time it's been used as a bike engine. JRL Cycles have converted this and similar engines for use in their "Radial Chopper".
