CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals - Round 2

Prince George, BC – This past weekend, the circuit of Black Water MX in Northern British Columbia was the host of a great domination by MX2 rider Cole Thompson. Following the announce of 450 rider Kaven Benoit sitting out until further notice, the whole KTM Thor Racing Team worked hard to conclude the week on a more positive note.

Cole Thompson started his day more motivated than ever. After qualifying in the top 5 at the new British Columbia facility, he lined up for the first MX2 moto of the day determined to go get his red plate back. Cole got a good start and was finally able to battle in front from the beginning. He took the pole position on lap 2 and pulled away. After some mid-moto action, Cole pushed really hard to stay in ahead and ended up crossing the finish line in first place. The second start of the day wasn’t as good and Cole had to work his way up for the first half of the race. After an awesome battle showing a lot of determination from the Ontario rider, Thompson made the past on local star Jess Pettis to grab another 1st place finish, giving him the overall. Cole is heading to round 3 in Calgary with an 8 point lead in the MX2 Championship and his well-deserved #1 red plates back on his KTM 250 SX-F Factory Edition.

“I was physically and mentally ready to get in front and stay there. It’s only the 2nd round but I really wanted to be back in control of the championship. I gave all I had and it paid off. I’m more than happy to give some extra work to my new mechanic Steve as he will need to change my stickers again, but I think we both agree that the red plates looks better anyway.”

The team is now traveling to Calgary for the 3rd round of the CMRC Canadian National Motocross Series.
