Rash of motorcycle deaths worries Minnesota riders, officials

This article may cause a small bit of controversy among older riders.

I think the takeaway, however, is that the first year of riding a motorcycle is one of the more dangerous times for a rider, and this is doubly so when that new rider does not get any training.

While the statistics in Minnesota do point to a rise in accidents among older riders, this is more a symptom of there simply being more older riders taking up riding for the first time at a later age.

Lack of experience and training can kill you at any age.

Really interesting article, thanks for adding it. People need training even if it's just a weekend course. I recently read a surprising article about the increase of motorcycle fatalities (by 50%) when riders are taught by family members! Basically, learning to ride a bike from a qualified stranger is life saving.
