SKULLY Helmet, the Sequel: Can new owners make it right?

SKULLY Helmets is reborn under a new name: SKULLY Technologies, acquired by Ivan Contreras and Rafael Contreras, owners of dirt bike company GasGas.

Yup, founders Mitch and Marcus Weller may have spent all their millions on hookers and fast cars, but there's still value in the tech.

Ivan Contreras, take son the role of President of the new company with a new leadership team headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

SKULLY Technologies says is unrelated to the former SKULLY, Inc., which filed bankruptcy and is no longer in business. However there must be some relation because, we're assuming, the IP (intellectual property) and name was purchased by the new owners.

Although SKULLY Technologies has no formal obligation to the customers of the now defunct SKULLY, Inc., they recognize that hundreds of SKULLY helmet enthusiasts around the world have contributed to this product and were understandably pissed that they never received one.

The company says it intends to honor orders under the criteria listed below.

"We would like to give anyone who previously pre-ordered or contributed to the effort via Indiegogo the opportunity to receive one of our new SKULLY FENIX AR helmets, an improved version of the SKULLY AR-1 which will begin shipping the summer of 2018."

Ivan Contreras, President of SKULLY Technologies, assembled a new leadership team with extensive technology and manufacturing experience and has located the headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

The new Fenix AR by SKULLY

The new helmet is called the Fenix AR and ships Summer 2018, here it is. It looks cool but, it's surprising they kept the same name given how many people were screwed.

It remains to be seen if the new helmet will be DOT approved in California because it does obstruct your point of view.

Inside the helmet you get a mini-tv that does the same thing your mobile phone does for a third of the price. It look like it has a GPS built-in which is good but it's not confirmed. However, if you drop your helmet you don't have to replace everything! Watch the video.

Here's how previous customers can get their new SKULLY Tech helmet:

1. Any SKULLY enthusiast who contributed more than $1200 for a SKULLY helmet on Indiegogo can register on our SKULLY Nation page for a new SKULLY FENIX AR helmet to be delivered on a first-come-first-served basis from the Make It Right production allotment.
2. Any SKULLY enthusiast who contributed $499 in a SKULLY helmet on Indiegogo can register on our SKULLY Nation page to complete their purchase of a new SKULLY FENIX AR helmet to be delivered on a first-come-first-served basis from the Make It Right production allotment for an additional $949 due at shipping.
3. Any SKULLY enthusiast who contributed $49 for SKULLY gear on Indiegogo can register on our SKULLY Nation page to receive a hat, shirt and decals on a first-come-first-served basis from the Make It Right production allotment.
4. Any SKULLY enthusiast who pre-ordered a SKULLY helmet on the SKULLY, Inc. website can register on our SKULLY Nation page to receive a new SKULLY FENIX AR helmet on a first-come-first-served basis from the Make It Right production allotment.
5. Registration will require full name and address, original contribution date or order date, amount contributed, proof of contribution, email, helmet size and color.
6. SKULLY Technologies will review and approve the registration and confirm a priority number for the Make It Right allotment shipment schedule.
7. Once the SKULLY FENIX AR production plan has been finalized, campaign participants will be notified by SKULLY Technologies via email on an expected shipment date based on placement in the queue.
8. Registration is void if the customer received a refund of their contribution from Indiegogo, SKULLY, Inc., from their credit card company or in any other means.
