Auto design whiz, Romain Gauvin takes a break from creating futuristic Porsche renderings to cook up a crazy four-wheeled motorcycle concept adorned in the classic style of the elite French auto manufacturer

Concept motorcycles are awesome. All of the limitations normally imposed on designers such as production costs and road-legality go out the window, leaving us with some truly breathtaking vehicle renderings. While the vast majority of these will never see production, it’s still fun to ogle some good ‘ol fashion bike porn, and this recent four-wheeled Bugatti motorcycle is some grade-A bike porn.

The digital renderings are the work of Romain Gauvin, a graduate of Strate College who sharpened his teeth as an exterior designer at KIA and Hyundai Motors before becoming the current senior exterior designer at Citroen. Gauvin is a well-known figure in the automotive industrial design world, and he boasts some seriously impressive digital drawing chops. His experience has enabled him to expertly blend futuristic designs with companies’ existing visual themes, like he did with the Bugatti Type 100M concept motorbike.

The Type 100M admittedly blurs the line a little between motorcycle and car, albeit the luxury machine is still of the single-track variety despite it having four wheels. The 100M sports a sleek, low-profile design in which the rider is fully enclosed inside the vehicle, reducing drag and shielding the machine's pilot from the elements. The enclosed cockpit is almost certainly a lot more inviting to car enthusiasts than your average motorcycle too, granted I’m not sure how the rider is suppose to move around on the bike while cornering.

Curiously the Type 100M is an electric powertrain vehicle, despite Bugatti not currently offering any eModels. Having said that the design blatantly features a number of the elite, French, auto marque’s distinctive aesthetic traits such as the two-tone livery and swooping C-shaped body panels (all of which appear to be carbon fiber units). Of the images released, one includes a minor diagram labeling the concept’s Main CPU, Charging Port, Rear View Camera and Monitor, Battery Pack (which is comically massive), Battery Cooling (vents/intakes), and something called an “Aero Airblade Breather” which is seemingly some sort of aerodynamic feature.

As Ettore Bugatti said, “Nothing is too beautiful, nothing is too expensive”. I think he’d really dig this one.
