Ready for some end of the season riding in Ontario? The Domain of Killien is a beautiful B&B located on 5,000 acres just 20 minutes past Haliburton town http://domainofkillien.com/. Perfect for eat sleep and riding in and around Haliburton and Algonquin Park. Also makes a great weekend ride from Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal.

There are hills, lakes, beaches and trails on the property - it's very quiet, very relaxing. Everyone was professional and treated us exceptionally well. Regine, the manager and French ex-pat is also a motorcycle enthusiast.

Your stay includes all your meals which is so easy. The French kitchen is located in the lodge and serves up exceptional meals. Breakfast is a choice of specials and a breakfast bar. Lunch is gourmet sandwiches, fruit, drinks, hot coffee and snacks packed in a convenient backpack for your ride which meant we could stop anywhere and have a great and healthy lunch. Dinner is a four course menu of delicious quality. The wine and beer selection is versatile and good for food pairing.

We took a break from motorcycle touring and went for a hike on the trails. The trail we took led to a small island accessible by canoe where, we're told, attracts serious fly-fishing people. Canoe over past the island and there's a little cottage where you can have a snack before you paddling back to the mainland. If you're lucky, you may spot some deer just hanging about like we did.

In terms of cost, this is not a budget B&B, but if you factor in three great meals per day, times 2 people, it comes in at a normal cost. If you don't want to stay overnight, the restaurant is open to everyone for dinner. We loved it. We'll be back!
