The Halcyon 50 - What is Old is New Again

Feeling like you belong in an older time? No, not the 1970s. Older. Like 100 years ago. If so, you can get that "turn of the century feeling" back with Halcyon 50, from Janus Motorcycles.

The Goshen, Indiana company is trying to capture that iconic feeling of early, hand-made, small-displacement motorcycles. Paying $5,300 for a 50cc motorcycle may seem a bit crazy, but you have to admire the styling of the hand-formed frame, solid leather seat (even the battery holder is in a leather pouch!) and a water-cooled, 6-speed, 2 stroke engine capable of 55mph speeds.

It's beyond vintage, well-past retro, and straight into historic for this ride.

it's almost too pretty to ride... one's reaction is to try it once, then put it in a glass case or window to admire. Beyond "retro" indeed - more like "resurrected museum" - it's too nice to get dirty in the real world lol
