MotoGP - 'Our Sic' - Official Marco Simoncelli book - Presentation

<div><a href="http://www.motoracereports.com/wp-content/uploads/book.jpg"><img src="http://www.motoracereports.com/wp-content/uploads/book.jpg" alt="" title="Il nostro Sic book" width="500" height="774"></a>Il Nostro Sic</div> Last Friday in Misano, I attended the presentation for ”Il nostro Sic” (“Our Sic” in English), the only official book about Marco Simoncelli. It was compiled by Marco’s parents, Paolo and Rossella Simoncelli, edited by Italian journalist and close family friend, Paolo Beltramo. Paolo Simoncelli started the presentation with an emotional statement: “After so much affection from everyone, we wanted to give something back. I can’t bear to follow the races anymore. Coming here is very tough”. Rossella Simoncelli added: “At first, I didn’t agree with it. I was very protective of Marco’s things, especially the childhood photos. Then I understood that publishing it all was like sharing with friends. I am happy with what we’ve achieved. It is a beautiful book”. The book has 360 pages and features many beautiful colour photos, anecdotes, written notes, all shared by Marco’s family and friends. It is a touching and fitting tribute to a rider who has thrilled so many of us during his career, a man who has also united and inspired so many fans around the world after his tragic death. Paolo Beltramo explained: “The book couldn’t have been any other way. It naturally had to be entertaining because it is about the real Sic and he was entertaining.” “Il Nostro Sic” is out in Italy at the end of the month, published by Rizzoli. All proceeds will be given to the <a href="http://www.marcosimoncellifondazione.it/?IDC=1">Marco Simoncelli Foundation</a> I did ask about the English version as the book is currently only available in Italian. I was told it hadn’t been translated yet and it would have to get interest from a publisher too.
