@KRAWIEC RACES @HARLEY V-ROD TO SECOND WIN OF SEASON AT @SONOMAHines Takes MiraMonte Records Pro Bike Battle Win and No. 1 Countdown SeedSONOMA, Calif. (July 27, 2014) - Harley-Davidson® Screamin' Eagle®/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec won his second Pro Stock Motorcycle final-round race of the season at the NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway, part of the NHRA Mellow Yello Drag Racing Series. Riding a Harley-Davidson® V-Rod® motorcycle, Krawiec defeated Savoie Alligator Farm Suzuki rider Jerry Savoie in the final, and clinched the second seed in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs. ‟It's great to lock in that number-two seed,” said Krawiec. ‟Now we can go into Indy with both bikes in a solid position and just race with no pressure. We got a handle on my V-Rod on Saturday and it was very consistent for the rest of the weekend.”In qualifying at Sonoma, Krawiec had a best Elapsed Time (ET) of 6.814 seconds to take the second spot. Hines qualified third at 6.818 seconds. Savoie was the top qualifier at 6.810 seconds. On Saturday, Hines won the inaugural MiraMonte Records NHRA Pro Bike Battle, a special event open to the top-eight riders in points so far this season. Hines defeated John Hall on the Matt Smith Racing Buell, Lucas Oil Buell rider Hector Arana and Petrolhead Apparel Buell rider Scott Pollacheck to win the $25,000 bonus. ‟This is a big deal for Vance & Hines and Harley-Davidson,” said Hines. ‟Our team has won the last five of these specialty races, and I'm glad to keep that streak going.” Hines also maintained the number-one Countdown seed spot at Sonoma. In Sunday eliminations, Hines had wins over Katie Sullivan on the Tough Girls Designs Suzuki and Nitrofish Suzuki rider Matt Smith before losing to Krawiec in the semi-finals. That loss broke a streak of 13 straight round wins for Hines on a new Harley-Davidson V-Rod motorcycle he debuted on July 3 in Norwalk, Ohio.‟People say it's too bad to race your teammate in the semis, but we both did our jobs to get there, and one of us was going to the final,” said Hines. ‟We've got two fast V-Rods out there right now and Eddie did his job and got the team its sixth win of the season.”To advance to the semi-final, Krawiec scored wins over Danny Griego/Amerimonte Records Suzuki rider Freddie Camarena and Kandy Racing Buell rider Angie Smith.Krawiec got an automatic win in the final when Savoie fouled at the starting line, leaving 0.014 seconds early.
