Hell's Revenge to Slick Rock Trail, Legendary DualSport Ride

Distance: 18.7 Km / 11.7 Mi Duration: 01:41:08

The Slickrock Trail, located near Moab, Utah is world renown motocross trail laid out in 1969. It's doable on most Dualsport bikes but best on a light dirt bike.

From Moab, take Sand Flats Road via Hells Revenge Safari Route to the start of the trail at point B.

This 13-mile (20.9 km) loop takes undaunted riders over a landscape of 120 million year old petrified sand dunes and eroded sea beds. The Slickrock Trail is one of the more difficult rides in the Moab area, both technically and physically and is not suitable for novice riders.

"Slickrock" was named by early settlers because their horses' metal shoes had difficulty gaining traction on the rock's sloping surfaces. The same is true for machines with horsepower. Although the heat helps for sticky tires-Slickrock becomes very slick when wet.

Slickrock also means a expanse of sandstone with a surface level enough for walking or riding, so you'll hear it a lot on the area. Watch out for 4x4 vehicles and mountain bikers on the trail.

For more, take in the nearby Hell's Revenge Trail, which intersects the Slickrock Trail in several places.

Awesome, but I can't shake the feeling this route was chosen just so you could draw a seahorse on the map
