Some easy fun in New York State

This is part the route I used to get into Lake Placid - The first part, near Waterbury, isn't anything special, but once you enter the State forest, it starts to get very beautiful, especially in the fall.

It's not a technical road, and there's few opportunities for serious carving. Instead, it's more of a scenic sort of ride, but that shouldn't put the sports crowd off. Some of the latter parts of the route are definitely more fun than the earlier parts. Most encouraging was that I encountered reasonably little traffic and there's plenty of passing opportunities.

Some of the detours off the side (like that loop up towards Gouverneur) also look like it might be worth a look, which is great. I could use a reason to come back
