My Top Ten Gift List for Your Favourite Motorcycle Rider

So consider yourself a Christmas elf and take a look at more biker gifts and gift ideas. There's something on this list for the biker in your life, and maybe an item or two for yourself! It's never too early or too late to buy some neat new motorcycle gear. Right?

Lexin Air Pump get it here for under US$75

Tire pressure is your #1 safety tool. Each ride needs a tire pressure check and likely, more air! The Lexin P5 is small and mighty portable air compressor and pump made by Airmoto. It's a solid and well built device that fits in the palm of your hand. You can adjust the pressure up and deflate for air adjustment to take the pressure out, to get the exact PSI you want. It can be used for motorcycle and car tires, for electric bike tires, or even as a bicycle pump. This gadget also serves as an emergency light and pressure gauge. The Lexin Air Pump is wireless and has a battery power indicator to let you know if it's full (green), medium (yellow) and red (low) -- it's rechargeable using a fast charging USB-C connection. If you need to pump a tire from half-flat, you'll run out of battery juice, but if you're adjusting your air for every ride, this Air Pump will cut down on your getting-ready-to-ride time.

The AstroAI Tire Inflator get here for under US$65

The AstroAI Tire Inflator is similar to the Lexin Air Pump but this one has a back up battery capability. The air pump uses a dual-power design, switching freely between cordless and power supply. The built-in battery provides cordless inflation while the included 3-meter DC power cord can power the pump when the battery runs out. Make sure your inflation won’t be interrupted by a power shortage. It comes with a USB-A to Type-C charging cable, but a compatible charging adapter (5V 2A) is not included.

Helite Vented Air Bag Motorcycle Jacket, get it for about US$900

An extra level of safety and high tech is offered by the Helite Vented Air Bag Jacket. It provides padded protection in a fall, while at the same time providing a vented surface for air flow on the hottest days. Pretty hot gadget for the gadget-loving motorcycle rider.

The air bag jacket is tethered directly to the motorcycle with a lanyard, so when the rider goes off, it triggers the inflation. The reason "Vented" is important is because these air bag jackets can be hot. This one les the air through. In the summer this is a good motorcycle jacket for track days. When riding later in the year, it has a removable thermal, waterproof and windproof lining for the colder days. Its reflective inserts make the rider visible at night-time. While it offers protection, it's hard to know how much without a test but it does come with a mechanical system ready to use and easy to reuse (or re-inflate). There are a few downsides. For example, the rider has to remember to untether before they get off the bike or they'll be inflated getting off the bike! It can be heavy and it adds an extra level of heat. Makes a nice gift from Ma!

It's a scarf, it's a neck warmer, it's a way to keep yourself warm on chilly rides. This breathable and elastic microfibre product is a handy addition to any biker's wardrobe.

Beeline Moto Motorcycle and Scooter GPS, get it for US$200

This GPS is a hardware you bolt on to your motorcycle and it displays simplified directions with no display of a map. You can use it with the ESR app which allows you to track your ride and stay connected. The added directions are helpful for new riders who want a bigger visual on the road. The Beeline shows one direction at a time with no map view. It tells you how far and when to turn. It has a clear and clean display that's easy to read and understand at a glance.

EARPEACE Moto PRO Motorcycle Ear Plugs, get it for US$40

Noise on the bike can be distracting and our hearing is precious. These earplugs filter out the wind noise but still make it possible to hear your music and take a call in your helmet. Gift these ear plugs to a Harley rider and they will never believe how beautiful quiet riding can be 🙂 These things reduce the wind noise by up to 24 dB.

Your bike doesn't have a centre stand? No problem as this handy wheel roller stand lets you rotate your wheel for chain maintenance, wheel cleaning, or whatever other reason you can think of.

Canyon Dancer Bar Harness, get it here for under US$30

It's a handlebar strap designed to secure your motorcycle when trailering. Keep your bike safe and secure when you're hauling a motorcycle, sport-tourer, sport bike or scooter anywhere with the Canyon Dancer Bar Harness (strange name but it works). This handy, and inexpensive device-strap takes the pressure off the bars, keeps the bars from moving around and slips on to the ends of the handle bars so you can attach tie-downs quickly and without scratching the paint or bodywork of your motorcycle. Slide the plastic cuffs over the bar ends of the bars, remove the slack by pulling the loose ends and hook your tie-downs. Done.

Motorcycle riders love this do-hicky and it makes it a great gift because it's the kind of tie-down anyone who moves a bike needs to have.

CrampBuster CB2 adds cruise control to any motorcycle, get it here for US$12

CrampBuster is the original throttle assist device. This little piece of plastic fits on to the throttle to reduce the strain on the wrist for long trips. It promises more throttle control than a conventional motorcycle cruise control because it’s a motorcycle grip assist, not a cruise throttle lock!

When it arrives, it doesn't look like it would fit, but it does fit on most sport bikes including Honda, Yamaha, Triumph, Kawasaki, KTM and so on. Harley-Davidson bikes may need the oversize. The CB2 is a short and wide panel that fits a standard bike throttle up to 1 5/16" diameter. For oversize get the CB3 or CB4 that fit the 1 3/8" diameter. 

Freeway and highway riders, or riders taking long trips really appreciate controlling the throttle with the back of the wrist. CrampBuster is pretty well made and seems to be better than the cheaper knock offs. It needs to be put on carefully so it doesn't break on initial install but, it's easy to adjust.

While it's used mostly on the highway, riders need to get used to it for city riding because taking sharp right turn needs smart clutch management! Any rider in your life will love this stocking stuffer!

Everyone needs a portable power bank! After a ton of research, I think this one does the job for the best quality vs price. The Veektomk is among the most compact for the power you can find and it comes in different colours making it easy to find in the bottom of a bag. It fires 10,000 mAh of power; this is a measure of electrical charge or energy capacity. It's a unit that tells you how much electrical current a battery can provide over a certain amount of time, specifically 1,000th of an amp-hour. It's a commonly used unit of measure for rechargeable batteries in electronic devices such as smartphones, laptops, and portable speakers. The higher the mAh, the longer the power bank battery can run without needing to be recharged.
