The DesertX comes by these upgrades naturally thanks to performances at the Iron Road Prolog at the Erzbergrodeo 2023 where enduro world champion and European supercross champ Antoine Meo who the bike to the win in the twin-cylinder category.

The bike looks fantastic with its new livery, but the beauty here is much more than skin deep. There's a high front mudguard, impact resistant forged carbon sump guard, and machined-from-solid gear and rear brake levers.
This bike is the first Ducati with a 21-inch front rim and 18-inch rear and those wheels are kept planted firmly on the ground with updated Kayaba suspension with increased travel at both ends. A new billet aluminum triple clamp holds the closed-cartridge fork which is internally coated for reduced friction and wear. Front travel is 9.9 inches.
The rear aluminum swingarm has a different attachment point than the standard DesertX mated to a large piston shock that provides 9.4 inches of travel. These suspension increases give the DesertX Rally an extra 1.1 inches of ground clearance for a total of 11 inches.

To help battle demanding off-road conditions, the DesertX Rally has an adjustable Öhlins steering damper, fixed directly to the handlebars with supports machined from solid.
The new wheels feature lighter hubs, carbon steel spokes, and high-strength Takasago Excel rims with inner tube. You can get your choice of Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR, Scorpion Rally, or Scorpion Trail II tires.
The DesertX Rally has a dry weight of just 2.2 pounds more than the standard DesertX despite the beefed up suspension components.

Service intervals are 9,500 miles (15,000 km) or 24 months while you don't have to check the valves until every 18,000 miles (30,000 km).
Thanks to six different riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro, Rally) plus Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) you can tailor the bike's output and intervention to your needs, skills, and terrain.
