Triumph Wins Six MCN Awards, Including Manufacturer and Overall Bike of the Year

Hinckley, UK

If there's ever been debate over whether Triumph manufactures some of the best motorcycles around, the debate is now over.

Motorcycle News, one of the most well-respected publications in the biking world, honoured the Hinckley, UK, company with six awards in its annual list of the best - including the top prizes: Manufacturer of the Year and Overall Bike of the Year.

Let's break it down a little bit, shall we?

The overall award was bestowed on the new for 2024 Triumph Speed 400. MCN judges called the Speed 400 “a middleweight bike that’s made a big impact, charming new riders and experienced bikers alike." The Speed 400 also claimed the Best A2 bike recognition.

This is the third year in a row that Triumph won Overall Bike of the Year with the Tiger Sport 660 winning in 2022 and the 2023 title going to the Street Triple RS.

The Triumph Street Triple RS was named the Best Performance Naked and this accolade comes on the heels of the Street Triple RS previously being awarded bike of the year honours. The 765cc triple "pushes the boundaries of what a naked machine can do," said MCN. “It borders on being both a super-naked, and supersport. Yet it does so, without the price or the detrimental aspects of each... Kudos, Triumph.”

The Best Adventure Bike (sub-1000cc) was claimed by the Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro. MCN said the revamped machine benefits from balanced suspension and light weight which make it the ultimate road-focused middleweight adventure bike. "Triumph’s Tiger 900 GT Pro is now all the road adventurer you could ever need," said MCN.

Voters named the Triumph Trident 660 as the WoMCN Rider Bike of the Year based on its popularity with experienced and new riders alike thanks to its spread of linear and usable power. MCN said, "It’s fun, light and well balanced, with thoughtful features such as the tapered seat and tank as well as confidence-inspiring OE tyres. When all this is combined, it’s clear to see why the terrific Trident wheelspins away with the 2024 WoMCN Rider Bike of the Year trophy."

These awards are an honour and recognize the impact Triumph has in the motorcycling world, said Devron Boulton, General Manager for Triumph UK and Ireland. “We’ve already achieved so much, launching market-leading bikes, breaking into the sub-500cc category, winning podiums in motocross and so much more," Boulton noted. "These awards are a testament to the hard work, passion and dedication from the team right here at Hinckley and around the world to deliver to our customers. To say we are proud is an understatement,” Boulton added.

All award-winning bikes and the awards will be on display at the Triumph Factory Visitor Experience on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
