The 2024 RS 457 Expands the Aprilia Sportbike Lineup

Noale, Veneto, Italy

The Aprilia RS sportbike lineup was ably represented at the mid-size and large displacement levels with the RS 660 and RSV4, but there was a gap for those looking for a smaller bike.

That gap exists no longer thanks to the new 2024 RS 457.
The RS 457 is a high-tech bike that doesn't present itself as an entry-level machine.
This liquid-cooled 457cc twin-cylinder sportbike pumps out a claimed 47hp, which, coupled with a dry weight of just 350 pounds, should make this little motorcycle snappy on the road. The twin-spar aluminum frame uses the mill is a stressed member, just like on its big brother, the RS 660, and boasts twin cams and four valves per cylinder.

Big bike features include a six-speed gearbox with wet multiplate slipper clutch and optional quick shifter.
Power delivery is tailored through a trio of riding modes. ECO provides progressive output with medium traction control and is designed for daily riding. SPORT mode offers more dynamic power output and less invasive traction control. RAIN mode is for poor grip situations and gives gradual power output with maximum traction control.
Braking is handled by a 320mm disc with four-piston caliper at the front paired with a 220mm disc and single-piston caliper in the rear. Wheels are 17-inch. A 41mm front fork offers 120mm travel while rear travel is 130mm from the rear monoshock.

A low seat height, LED lighting and a 5" TFT colour screen completes the package, but there's plenty more on offer thanks to a wide range of official Aprilia riding gear and accessories to tailor the bike to any rider's tastes. The RS 457 will be in dealerships in the second quarter of 2024.
