What's new with the Brough Superior SS100?

Saint Peters Square, England, United Kingdom

The name Brough Superior brings memories of Laurence of Arabia in full military regalia riding along on what used to be known as the 'Rolls Royce of motorcycling.' He was known for owning seven Brough Superiors, and was unfortunately killed as a result of his injuries from crashing one. He reportedly had an eighth Brough on order when he died.

A little over three years ago, EatSleepRIDE reported that Brough Superior had released their SS100 prototype.

But that was in 2013, so what's new?

Well just under seven decades after the firm went bust they're back with the SS100 and they're now for sale, but don't expect much change from £60,000.

The new Brough comes in three different models - Titanium, Full Black and Traditional, with a Pendine Sand Racer also available for 2018.

The Pendine Sand Racer is the "cheapest" of the bunch, coming in at £57,999 opposed to the £59,999 of the other three models. All models have a 997cc V-twin four stroke engine and composite chain/gear cam drive and produce 100bhp at 9800rpm, and 89Nm of torque at 7450rpm - but this can be heightened to 130bhp when using a set of race exhausts.

The Brough's pride themselves with titanium frames, giving the classy look of a hand built machine.

Brough are back and as classy as ever, but the price is enough to make anybody wince. Still, we can look at them and appreciate the metal.

View the range on MotoCorsa's website, the stockist of Brough's in the UK. You can purchase a Brough from MotoCorsa, based in Gillingham, Dorset (UK) or keep an eye out on this link: http://www.broughsuperiormotorcycles.com/dealers.html for stockists in your area.

In the meantime, here's some pictures.
