St. Margaret’s Anglican Church
attraction 110 1 Avenue West, Mafeking, Canada
The St. Margaret’s Anglican Church at Mafeking, in the Rural Municipality of Mountain, was built in 1940 and closed in March 2002. The final service of deconsecration took place on 7 May 2003. Its interior, still fitted with handmade pews, was later used as a community museum. The building is a municipally-designated historic site. Some restoration of the building was done as part of the Manitoba Prairie Churches Project and a commemorative monument was erected in 2005.
