The motorcycle route is known by many different names along the road like Rosedale Highway, Barstow-Bakersfield Hwy or the Kern County Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway just to mention a few.
Get ready, this road is often compared to a roller-coaster ride due to its hills, tight curves, giants sweepers and many changes in elevation. CA-58 is a scenic ride that offers an amazing vista of the valley and pastoral farmlands, crossing desserts, oil fields and the fabulous Santa Lucia Mountains. Last checked, CA-58 was very lightly police patrolled and you'll see very few cars on the road.
This ride starts in the junction of CA-58 and CA-33 at McKittrick; as soon as you leave town, the road gets insanely twisty. At CA-58 you'll head west for an amazing ride. Before you find the end of the road at Santa Margarita, you'll enjoy a breathtaking view of the largest grass plain in California: the Carrizo Plain's northern edge is 50 miles long and about 15 miles wide.
