From the River to the Sea of Gaspé, Quebec
Distance: 365.0 Km / 227.4 Mi Duration: 04:30:06
The other Canada: Quebec
This scenic motorcycle ride loops around the huge and equally legendary Gaspé Peninsula. Ultra-equipped Quebec has most of everything the rest of Canada has, but en français and it’s not just the lingo; it’s packing an effervescent Eurovibe plus over 400 years of distinct evolution.
For motorcyclists, Quebec has always been a naughty dream come true. The province is enormous. At 1.54 million sq km, it is 15.4% of Canada, smaller only than Nunavut. Though it lacks a massive network of roads, there are many great ones for riders. Photo credit http://www.mctourer.com
This route explores from the southern bank of the St. Lawrence River through the Parc national de la Gaspésie, down to the southern coast of the peninsula and finishes at the stunning promontory of Gaspé proper.
It is so stunning here you much speak French to verbally do it justice. Photo credit http://www.hanoverholidays.com
Where to stop
Take a hike to the Parc national de la Gaspésie, where the views are high, long and outstanding. Also hit Forillon National Park, the end of the earth. For culture, well there are a number of wineries, mead factories and microbreweries waiting for your thirsty mouth. There's also whale-watching aplenty.
