Nick's Cove to Golden Gate Bridge on the Ducati Hyperstrada and Scrambler

Nick’s Cove to Golden Gate is a terrific ride through number of quiet twisty sections. We did this route on day two of the Ducati media ride in March 2015. For the stretch across the Golden Gate, I rode the Ducati Hyperstrada and the Scrambler on the way back! Both motorcycles were incredibly fun to ride, but I have to say my favorite ride was the Hyerstrada. More detail about the Ducatis in my up coming review...

Nick’s Cove in Point Rayes is where you'll find a large and charming water front restaurant with lodging available in high-end cottages on the water. The iconic restaurant is nestled in the sheltered coves of Tomales Bay. Definitely a picturesque and tranquil setting for an overnight or a lunch. Nick's dock takes you right out into the water for a short walk or a deep sigh at sunset. After a delicious lunch, we left Nick's Cove on glorious and (weekday) deserted back-country roads. A stop at Equator Coffees at the Proof Lab Surf Shop is a must. The shop is right in the Bay Area’s largest surf & skate shop. Coffee here is considered the best in the Bay Area. Follow the route and you'll pass right by Equator Coffee in Mill Valley on 244 Shoreline Hwy (CA, 94941, tel: 415-209-3733, Open M - S until 6pm).

Leaving Equator Coffees you'll take a rather main road back across the iconic Golden Gate but not before travelling through an awesome, single lane tunnel. Sweet!

Crossing the Golden Gate on the Hyperstrada was easier than I expected. While I spotted bicycle riders flailing in the wind on the elevated promenade, I felt sheltered, but it could have been due to the Hyperstrada's hard-working windshield.
