2023 American Flat Track Season Begins in Daytona

With Bike Week in full swing, the action turns to the dirt oval with the start of the 2023 Progressive American Flat Track season at Daytona International Speedway.

Fans can take in two nights of bar-banging action on the short track where the world's best flat trackers go head-to-head. Racing happens Thursday, March 9 and Friday, March 10. Get to the track early as the gates open at 3 p.m. so you can be there in time for the 4 p.m. practice/qualifying sessions. Opening ceremonies begin at 7 p.m.

The field will have a European flair as British national champion Gary Birtwistle is competing in the doubleheader for Jeffrey Carver's Happy Trails Racing.

Birtwistle with compete in the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles presented by KICKER class aboard the #111 Happy Trails Racing/Jeffrey Carver Husqvarna FC450. 

He is recognized as one of the most talented flat trackers outside the U.S. and is looking to mark his mark in the Progress AFT action after winning the Singles and Twins DTRA national championships in 2022. Previously, he earned multiple Hooligan titles, including the UK and European championships.
