Adventure Bikes of a Different Type at EICMA 2023

Rho, Lombardia, Italy

Let's look at a few adventure/dual-purpose bikes, and a few others, from EICMA 2023.
Not many people will think off-road travel when they think Bimota, but the manufacturer showcased the Tera which is the company's first crossover model. It sports the unique Tesi chassis coupled with a new kinematic mechanism that increases the steering angle to 35°.

The Tera is powered by Kawasaki's 200 hp 998 cc four-cylinder engine from the H2, so you might want to tread lightly if you decide to take a Tera down your favourite dirt road or easy trail. It also uses Kawasaki's electronic platform with with Cornering Management Function (KCMF), KTRC Traction Control (3-MODE), Intelligent anti-lock Brake System (KIBS). Semi-active suspension comes from Marzocchi and brakes are Brembo Stylemas. You can choose from the road-biased Tera which is sportier or the touring model with built-in side panniers and off-road capable tires.

Moto Morini is following up on the success of the X-Cape 650 with the new X-Cape 1200. Notable features are the blind spot radar and the new V2 Corsa Corta 125 hp EVO engine with four riding modes.

Beta presented the Alp 4.0 for off-road use and the Alp X which is made for the street. They both use the same 350 cc engine that produces 35 hp.

CF Moto, the Chinese company, unveiled a pair of new concepts. The first is the single-cylinder NK125 with single-sided swingarm and semi-lenticular front wheel. The other concept machine is the MT-X adventure bike with a 799 cc inline twin.

And although it's not an adventure bike, let's take a peek at the new Ducati single-cylinder Hypermotard 698 Mono. It puts out 77.5 hp at 10,250 rpm, has the electronic package you would expect with ABS cornering, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, power launch, and quick shift plus four riding modes.
