Bagnaia's Win Marks 200th MotoGP Podium Finish for Ducati

England, United Kingdom

Hot on the heels of their 1000th podium finish in WorldSBK racing, Ducati raced to its 200th MotoGP podlum placing thanks to Pecco Bagnaia's victory in the British GP at Silverstone.

Not only did the Ducati Lenovo Team rider capture the checkered flag, but his teammate Jack Miller was also on the podium with him in third place.

Bagnaia started in fifth place and cut his way through the pack and took the lead midway through the race and held on for his eighth win of the season.

The win moves Bagnaia to third place in the standings, 49 points behind defending series champion Fabio Quartararo.

"I didn't expect to win today. Until yesterday I would have been happy with a top-five result," Bagnaia said. "We decided to race with a medium-front tire because we weren't sure if the soft could hold up to the end, and at first, I wasn't happy with that decision. In the race, though, it turned out to be the right choice because, in the end, it allowed me to be fast still even though the rear tyre was worn. I want to thank my team because I was struggling a lot, and thanks to their support, I was able to win this, which is one of the best of my career."

Ducati consolidated its lead in the Constructors' standings with a 91-point advantage over Yamaha. At the same time, the Ducati Lenovo Team is now second in the Teams' standings, just two points behind the leader. The next race is at Spielberg, Austria on August 14.
