You may not be able to ride like Troy Bayliss, but very soon you could at least look like you can.

Twenty years ago, the Aussie raced his Ducati 996R to the 2001 Superbike World Championship. That triumph is being honoured this year with the Panigale V2 Bayliss 20th anniversary edition.

This special-edition numbered series of machines will be available in limited quantities from dealerships starting in October.

It’s not just another pretty face with the fancy paintwork, a bold number 21, and logos, it’s also a beauty that’s gone a on a diet. This Panigale V2 Bayliss is 3kg lighter than the standard model. This is because it has a lighter lithium-ion battery and the choice of a single-seat configuration. (Passenger seat and footrests are available.)
