International Female Ride Day in Toronto
May 3rd is International Female Ride Day. The event was started in Toronto by Vicki Gray otherwise known as Motoress. The event is in it's 7th year and it's spreading to a number of cities around the world. The idea is to celebrate women motorcycle and scotter riders - because we're cool.
In Toronto, it was a full day of riding. First to Harley Davidson's head office north of Toronto. Then to Kawasaki for lunch. Over to BMW Motorrad for a snack, then off to Queen's Park (City Hall) and finally to High Park for sun set.
International Female Ride Day Toronto - Women who ride!
I caught up with the group half way between Kawasaki and BMW.
I wasn't sure I would go because it would be my first group ride. I need not have worried, the ride was amazing and the women delightfull, friendly and skilled riders.
My only mishapp was when i was riding up Bay Street. I caught sight of a pot hole, got spooked and popped the clutch, lost my footing on both pegs and wobbled out. I thought I was going down but I should have know better than to doubt my Peaches (Street Triple) the bike was just fine and so was I.
I'm so happy I went out! A huge thank you to Viki Gray who organized the event and continues to nurture the movement. A huge hello and thanks to all the amazing women I met. See you next year of sooner, I hope.

I go for joy rides too. The love of the road is the same no matter what your ride. Some scooters are even bigger & more powerful than motorcycles, like the Burgman 600's! Imagine!
Marina, it was great to meet you and ride beside you last week. I love the photos and see a few of me in there, yeah! Thanks for the shirt, I got lots of compliments on it at my scooter course on Sunday 🙂
