New Ducati MX bike taking to the track in 2024

The new Ducati motocross racing team hasn't even turned a wheel in competition yet but that motorcycle and those racers are already sharing the spotlight with world champions.
Ducati revealed its flagship racing teams for the 2024 season at a special event at Madonna di Campiglio in Trentino, Italy with the manufacturer's new Ducati Desmo450 MX as one of the stars of the show.

Nine-time MX World Champion Antonio Cairoli and the eight-time Italian champion Alessandro Lupino will campaign the new motocrosser in in the Italian Motocross Pro - Prestige MX1 Championship as part of the motorcycle development process. The Desmo450 MX will make its racing debut March 16 and 17 in Mantua.

Ducati says the goal for this motocross season is to get information and feedback.
"The target of this first season of racing is mainly to acquire data and information in racing to contribute to the development of the Desmo450 MX that will go into production in the second half of 2025," the motorcycle manufacturer noted.

Also on hand at the teams presentation, of course, were Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia, the defending MotoGP champion of Ducati Lenovo Team along with his teammate Enea Bastianini, plus WorldSBK champion Alvaro Bautista from the Aruba.it Racing Ducati Team and WorldSSP champ Nicolò Bulega, who is making the jump to WorldSBK and teaming with Bautista.

The Aruba.it Racing Ducati Team just completed two days of testing in Portugal and has returned to Italy to get ready for two more days of testing on February 19 and 20 at Phillip Island, Australia in preparation for the opening round of the 2024 WorldSBK season which opens February 23 to 25. 
The Ducati Lenovo Team will be on the track in Sepang, Malaysia on February 6 to 8 for official testing for the 2024 MotoGP season. The first race is March 8 to 10 in Qatar.
