Royal Enfield twins spied again - Launch approaching?

Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

The new Royal Enfield twins mark a paradigm shift in the strategy and perception of the brand in its current form. Since their reveal at EICMA 2017 in Milan, riders around the world have been eagerly waiting to see a multi-cylinder motorcycle from the house of Royal Enfield. In a final teaser before the bikes are launched, new spy shots have emerged, this time without camouflage.

A Continental GT 650 and an Interceptor 650 were spotted near the RE manufacturing plan in Chennai, leading many to speculate that the official launch is approaching. YouTuber PremREHog recording a video of the sighting.

Both twins are powered by a twin cylinder 650cc air-cooled engine rumoured to produce 47PS of power, with a six-speed gearbox (another first for a Royal Enfield).

The chassis has had inputs from British tuning firm Harris Performance

The engine and chassis design are rumoured to be fine-tuned to deliver a familiar, yet enhanced the experience and with key contributions from Harris Performance to augment the dynamics of the motorcycles.

The Interceptor follows in the track of its forefathers and has a familiar silhouette which exudes a certain minimal sophistication. The Continental GT on the others had is a modern retro cafe racer and is definitely the sportier of the two.

Are the twins enough to bring the oldest motorcycle brand back into the international market? Or is it too little too late? Can they keep up with the charm and beauty of the Triumphs and Harleys of today? I can't wait to find out soon.
