Tarran Mackenzie wins the 2021 BSB championship!

Scotland, United Kingdom

Tarran Mackenzie made history this weekend by winning the British Superbike Championship 25 years after his father Niall.  Tarran accumulated a total of 10 wins and 9 podiums during this hard-fought season, and going into the final round he had a ten point lead. He won the first race ,and just snatching the win by 0.087 seconds from Tommy Bridewell in Race two secured his championship title. He then went out and won in the third race too; meaning he finished the championship with 1202 points, Ducati rider Tommy Bridewell in second with 1166 points; and Jason O`Halloran (Tarran`s teammate) finishing third with 1162 points.

Niall Mackenzie won the 1996, 1997 and 1998 British Superbike Championships on a Yamaha YZF750, Tarran has won the 2021 Championship on a Yamaha YZF-R1!

Tarran said this of his championship victory  "Honestly, I can’t believe it. It’s been a roller-coaster of a year. It’s nice to have all the fans back, especially at Brands Hatch so I thank everyone that’s come out to support me over the years. And to do it 25 years since dad won his title is amazing – it shows how old he is! I can’t thank everyone enough!”

Congratulations to Tarran and McAMS Yamaha for their success in what was an incredibly close and hard fought season.
