Triumph Releases Teaser for New Street Triple

Triumph's new Street Triple Teaser Video

Triumph's new Street Triple Teaser Video

Anyone who's ridden a Triumph three-cyclinder bike doesn't need an explanation of what is is that makes these machines so popular. Their crazy torque and sharp handling, sensible seat positioning and overall fun factor have made them one of the best selling bikes on the market, and Triumph's best selling bike, for a while now. There have been countless updates to the Street line-up from Triumph over the years but with the recent boom in the Scrambler market, combined with the sales success of Yamaha's FZ line (and other bikes in the FZ's categories), it likely became increasingly clear that the legendary British manufacturer needed to update their Street-line in the form of an overhaul and revamp - but to what extent we're not sure.

Because the video released today is only a teaser, we're left making guesses based on thirty seconds of silhouettes, quick cuts and intentionally-dark lighting. Earlier this year there were several spy shots of the supposedly new Street Triple but the differences seemed minimal, and the headlight on the bike from the spy shots appears to be different from the one seen in this more recent teaser video. There are however a few points that are revealed in the video. It appears the limited bodywork was redesigned, the controversial headlight assembly has been redone and the bike gets a new cutting-edge full-color TFT digital display (like the new Ducati's), and it looks phenomenal. Different fuel mapping/riding modes, multi-level traction control, adjustable ABS, in addition to even better brakes, are all almost guaranteed to be on the new British naked.

Triumph will be officially unveiling the new Street line-up on January 10th, 2017 with a live launch at 2PM EST in London and 7PM EST in Miami. I personally can't wait to swing a leg over this upcoming three cyclinder licensee jeopardizer.
